On and off the mats

Jiu-Jitsu isn’t just my sport: it’s my passion, my community, and my way of life.

I started training when I was twelve, and since then it’s given me way more than just cool moves. Jiu-Jitsu has taught me discipline, built my strength and endurance, boosted my confidence, and introduced me to some of the best people I know.

Coaching

Meet The Coach

I had my first jiu-jitsu lesson when I was twelve years old, training under Farron Sinicks. I still remember standing at the end of the line in that first class, not knowing what to expect, but eager to learn. From that moment, I was hooked.

After earning my first stripe, I was invited to join the adult class, and that’s where my passion really started to grow. Not long after, I began competing starting with a small local event alongside a few teammates. Those early experiences taught me how to stay calm under pressure, and I quickly found myself drawn to the challenge of competition.

I earned my grey belt and was soon training in every class I could, from junior beginners to adult advanced sessions. I began competing across Western Canada and later at international events like Jiu-Jitsu Con in Las Vegas. Each step forward came from consistency and hard work, and every tournament helped shape the way I train and teach today.

I was fortunate to have incredible coaches who taught me far more than just technique. They showed me the importance of discipline, humility, and focus, lessons that extend far beyond the mats. Those lessons inspired me to start passing that knowledge on to others through private lessons. Coaching quickly became something I loved; seeing kids gain confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the sport the same way I did is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

As I continued to train, I began running day camps and summer camps while staying active in competition. I’ve kept up with competeing at a high level, including winning ADCC Vancouver.

Now, after years of training, competing, and coaching, I’m focused on helping young students build confidence, discipline, and respect through jiu-jitsu the same values that have guided me since the day I first stepped on the mats.

I’d love to help your child experience the same benefits I’ve received from this sport.
